The Covenants of the Prophet Muhammad with the Christians of the World
John Andrew Morrow received his PhD from the University of Toronto where he studied Hispanic, Native, and Islamic Studies. He worked as a university professor for two decades. He taught for the University of Toronto, Park University, Northern State University, Eastern New Mexico University, the University of Virginia and Ivy Tech Community College. He has a research fellow at the University of Chicago, Purdue University, and Harvard University. Professor Morrow received a Student Impact Award from Northern State University and was recognized as both a Master Teacher and a Distinguished Faculty Member by Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana in 2012 and 2013. After reaching the rank of Full Professor, he retired from academia to devote himself entirely to scholarship and service.
Professor Morrow has authored a vast body of scholarly works in numerous fields. He has published hundreds of scholarly articles and dozens of academic books, including The Covenants of the Prophet Muhammad with the Christians of the World, which has been translated into Spanish, Italian, Arabic, and Indonesian. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Islam and the People of the Book: Critical Studies on the Covenants of the Prophet, a three-volume encyclopedic work on the letters and treaties of the Prophet Muhammad. He is also the Scholar and Special Consultant for "Muslims with Christians and Jews," an "Exhibition of Covenants and Coexistence" which was launched by the International Museum of Muslim Cultures in 2019.
Dr. John Andrew Morrow is deeply committed to the community. Along with his wife, he directs a mental-health and foster care agency which serves thousands of clients. He is also the Chairman of The Covenants of the Prophet Foundation which promotes peace and justice according to the model of religious pluralism and interfaith friendship established by the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, in his Covenants, his Treaties, his Letters, his Sunnah, and the Holy Qur'an.
