Islamic Studies Association (Delhi) was established in the year 1979 at Agra by Jesuit Scholars in Islamic Studies inspired by the new vision of the Church enunciated by the Vatican II, Nostra Aetate, No.3 which called upon both Christians and Muslims to strive sincerely for mutual understanding in order to safeguard and foster social justice, moral values, peace and freedom. Islamic Studies Association regularly holds conventions that brings Christians and Muslims to come together to work for common good. The Association publishes a quarterly SALAAM, which is in its 40th volume.
